Reporting a Streetlight Problem

The Town of Plainville has purchased most of the streetlights formerly owned by CL&P.  Residents noticing a streetlight out or not working properly in their neighborhood should report the issue via the online form or call the Public Works Administration Department at 793-0221 ext. 7176 and provide us with the following information:

  • Address the streetlight is located in front of or near
  • Pole number
  • Your name and phone number (In case we have questions or would like to inform you of information regarding the streetlight)

Town Staff will determine whether or not the streetlight is town-owned and then take the appropriate action to have it repaired. If it is a town owned pole, the Public Works Administration will submit a work order to Plainville's street light repair vendor. From there, the vendor will diagnose the issue and will repair the issue unless Eversource is needed and will contact Pubic Works. If it is an Eversource issue Public Works will notify Eversource. *Timing on when the pole gets repaired varies from a few days to possibly a few weeks depending on the issue. *
