The Plainville Recreation Department offers quality programs year round from Red Cross Swim Lessons, Summer Camp, Zumba and many more- we are here to meet the needs of the community. 

Children's programs include: Kidz-Fun, Toddle Time, Youth gymnastics, volleyball, parent & child aquatics.  Red Cross swim instruction, water safety instruction, and lifeguard training.  Basketball clinics, youth basketball league, day & mini camps, beginner diving, swim team, tennis, youth dance, modern dance, ski & snowboarding club, and golf clinics.

Programs for adults include: golf, zumba, softball, adult basketball, fitness, yoga, co-ed volleyball, water aerobics, swim instruction, and The Plainville Wind Ensemble.

Other recreational offerings include: special events, concerts, a Halloween Parade, school vacation specials, bingo, and Fun Day.

The Plainville High School indoor pool is available for use for all Plainville residents without charge. Please check our website for the full schedule. PLEASE NOTE: Periodically this schedule may change due to High School Events. Not available during summer months.

Additional services offered by the Recreation Department include permits for the use of town softball diamonds, picnic facilities, tennis courts and sand volleyball court. Picnic equipment is also made available for loan to Plainville residents upon request.

Providing activities both for the individual and the family, the Recreation Department will continue to serve the leisure needs of the community. Seasonal flyers describing all programs can be obtained in the Recreation Department at 50 Whiting Street or visit for more information regarding programs.
