Animal Control

Animal Control is a division of the Plainville Police Department. Municipal Animal Control Officers enforce all State Laws and Town Ordinances related to domestic pets which may include roaming dogs, impoundment of strays, animal bite investigations, barking nuisance, rabies control and animal cruelty. It is our goal to educate the public, find loving homes for the animals that are impounded, and maintain a clean and healthy environment at the dog pound.

Wildlife

The State of Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection Wildlife Division is charged with the handling of situations/complaints involving wildlife or non-domestic animals. For nuisance, distressed or orphan/baby wildlife contact DEEP at 860-424-3011.

For general nuisance wildlife problems such as a skunk or raccoon in the yard or bees nests search the Yellow Pages under Pest Control or contact DEEP Wildlife Division at 860-424-3333. Their organization maintains a list of wildlife officers that can help with these types of problems.

Animals for adoption will be listed on Petfinder.com.
