Getting Married in Plainville?

Marriage Licenses
Individuals getting married in Connecticut must obtain their marriage license no more than 65 days before the wedding date.  A license to be married must be obtained from the Town Clerk's office in the town in which the marriage is to take place.

To Obtain a Marriage License

  • Are you getting married in Plainville?  Are you getting married within the next 65 Days?
    • If you answered "YES" to both of these questions, you need to apply for a marriage license at the Plainville Town Clerk's Office. Both parties must appear in person to obtain the license.
    • You must request an appointment to come into the Town Clerk's office to apply for your marriage license. To request an appointment, please click here, fill out and submit the form.  After submitting the form, contact our office at (860) 793-0221 ext.8751 to schedule an appointment.
    • Bring a current form of photo identification and $50 (cash/check/charge)

The Town Clerk's office does not perform wedding ceremonies. We are happy to provide a list of Plainville Justices of the Peace click here. Arrangements can be made directly with the Justice you select.
