Town Council Sets March 19, 2024, for Referendum on MSP Building Project

LEGAL NOTICE
TOWN OF PLAINVILLE
REFERENDUM OF ELECTORS
MARCH 19, 2024

In accordance with the Charter of the Town of Plainville and the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut, a referendum of qualified electors of the Town of Plainville will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. to vote for approval or disapproval of an ordinance adopted by the Town Council on February 13, 2024, entitled “Ordinance Appropriating $61,915,000 For Renovations and Improvements to the Middle School of Plainville, And Authorizing The Issue Of Bonds And Notes To Finance The Portion Of The Appropriation Not Defrayed From Grants”.  The full text of the ordinance is on file in the office of the Town Clerk and available for public inspection.  The ordinance will be placed on the ballots under the following heading:

“SHALL THE TOWN OF PLAINVILLE APPROPRIATE 61,915,000 FOR RENOVATIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE MIDDLE SCHOOL OF PLAINVILLE, AND AUTHORIZE THE ISSUE OF BONDS AND NOTES TO FINANCE THE PORTION OF THE APPROPRIATION NOT DEFRAYED FROM GRANTS?”

Electors approving the ordinance will vote “Yes” and those opposing the ordinance will vote “No”.

Voting will be at the following polling place:  Plainville Fire House, 77 West Main Street in Plainville. 

Absentee ballots may be obtained from the office of the Town Clerk and will be available starting February 29, 2024 (Note:  the earliest date is the 19th date before the referendum). 

Absentee ballots will be counted at the following central location:  Plainville Fire House, 77 West Main Street in Plainville.
