Pan Am Southern - 2023 Vegetation Management Plan

Federal regulations require railroad companies to control vegetation on railroad rights-of-way for safety reasons (49 C.F.R. § 213.37). In addition, before doing so Connecticut state law (CGS § 22a-66a(j)) requires the companies to notify the state and affected municipalities.

Therefore, Pam Am Southern has notified the Town of Plainville they will commence pesticide application on their rights of way on or after March 1, 2023. The exact date of application will depend on weather and scheduling.
