Notice of Permit Application - Town of Plainville

Notice is hereby given that the Town of Plainville, (the “applicant”), of one Central Square has submitted to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection an application under Section 22a-449(c) of the Connecticut General Statutes for a permit to:

RCRA Hazardous Waste Land Disposal Facility maintain and/or continue post closure care of a land disposal facility in which hazardous waste(s) will remain in place.

Solid Waste Land Disposal Facility maintain and/or continue post-closure care of land disposal facility in which solid waste(s) will remain in place.

Specifically, the applicant proposes to renew its Stewardship Permit to perform closure and post closure care inclusive of water quality monitoring, site-wide environmental investigation, and clean-up, (post closure care and corrective action measures), at the hazardous and solid waste disposal facility.  The proposed activity will take place at the Town’s landfill located at 33 Granger Lane.  The proposed activity is not expected to adversely affect any natural resource or human health consistent with the original determination by CTDEEP in 2011.
