Affordable Housing Plan Public Workshop
The Plainville Planning & Zoning Commission and Planning Department, with assistance from its consultant team at SLR International Corporation, will host a public workshop on April 26th, 2022, to expand the town’s knowledge and understanding on housing affordability and how it relates to Plainville. The goal is to introduce ideas and gain input from participants regarding the creation of Plainville’s Affordable Housing Plan (AHP), as required by State Statute.
The event will take place at 7:30 pm and will be held in Room 304 (Council Chamber) of the Plainville Municipal Center.
This workshop will provide background and educational information on housing affordability concepts, an overview of relevant Plainville demographics and housing data, and an analysis of current housing needs in Plainville. The workshop will highlight key themes and responses of the online community survey followed by a discussion of various, local strategies for creating housing affordability options in Plainville. A live polling exercise will invite workshop participants to give input on preferred strategies for how Plainville could approach adding new affordable housing, so please bring your smart phones. The event will end with a question-and-answer session.
