Meet the Town Manager

Michael T. Paulhus, Town Manager

Michael T. Paulhus was appointed Plainville Town Manager in August 2022.

Paulhus has a diverse professional background in the public and private sectors, including having served as Town Manager in North Branford, Connecticut for nearly a decade and as Executive Administrator and First Selectman in Windham, Connecticut for a combined thirteen years. In his most recent position in North Branford, Paulhus focused on strong fiscal management, economic development, community relations, and grant writing and administration. In Plainville, Paulhus continues to focus on these major areas while promoting the Town through engaging social media content. 

Paulhus attended Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Biology. He later joined the Peace Corp and volunteered in Tanzania. Upon returning to the United States, he earned his Masters in International Relations and Affairs from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and his Masters in Public Affairs from University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut. 

Throughout his career, Paulhus has been involved in professional associations, including the International City County Management Association (ICMA), the Connecticut Town & City Management Association (CTCMA), the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM), and the Connecticut Council of Small Towns (CT COST). He currently serves on the Boards for CT COST, the South-Central Health District, and the Bristol Resource Recovery Facility.
