Bulk Pick-up Questions

Does the town only allow one free pickup per year?- Yes, eligible residents can choose if they would like to use their one time free bulk pickup either in the Spring or the Fall when C.W.P.M offers bulk pickup collection.

Can residents pay a fee for another bulk request? No, C.W.P.M only allows eligible residents a bulk pick-up request once per year in the spring or fall. If a resident needs to remove more items but has already used their bulk request, the transfer station is opened Saturdays during its open season from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. If it is during the winter season when the transfer station is not opened, a resident can hire a private removal company to dispose of their bulk items. Some surrounding towns and cities may allow outside residents to use their transfer stations as well.

Who is considered eligible for bulk pickup?- Eligible residents must be a property owner, homeowner, or landlord where the property currently has curbside waste and recycle collection through the town. If it is a multi-family home, the owner of the property must schedule a bulk pick-up request and it should be for all the units on the property as each property is only allowed one bulk pickup per year.

Who is in charge of the bulk pick-up and how do I schedule a bulk pickup request? Bulk pick-up is run by C.W.P.M the town's waste and recycle contractor. All calls should be placed to C.W.P.M for a bulk request, residents can reach them at (860)793-6721. Residents will want to leave their name, address, phone number, and a complete description of items they want collected. For more information on bulk pickup please see the Public Works section under bulk pickup.
