Health District Name Change (South Central Health District)

Effective October 1, 2023, the Plainville-Southington Health District official changed its name to the South Central Health District.
The Plainville-Southington Health District was established in 2011. Town Manager Paulhus, a member of the Health District Board of Directors, said "the Town of Middlefield became a member in 2019. This name change better reflects the member towns." The South Central Health District continues to be committed to improving the health and well-being of the communities served through prevention of disease, promotion of healthy living. and protection of the environment.
