Gold Star Memorial Donation - Bristol American Legion

Representatives from American Legion Post 2 and the Sons of American Legion Post 2 of Bristol recently presented checks towards the proposed Gold Star Memorial being planned for Veterans Park in Plainville.  Rick Schreiner, Commander of Post 2, and Patrick Kilby, Commander of the Sons of American Legion, met with Bob Doolittle and Dan Burgess at the Plainville Municipal Center to make the donation.  Mr. Schreiner remarked “This is a very worthwhile project and Post 2 wanted to participate in some way towards making this memorial a reality.  It is important to remember the mothers and families of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.  We very much support and applaud this effort.”

The plan is to have the Gold Star Memorial in place by this Memorial Day on May 29th.  Donations can be made to the Town Manager’s Office at 1 Central Square, Plainville, CT 06062 until March 1st.  Any questions regarding the Gold Star Memorial effort can also be directed to the Town Manager’s Office at 860-793-0221, ext. 201.
