Games at the Library

Gaming at the Plainville Public Library

The library offers Nintendo Switch consoles and games that are available for check out and in-house use.  

The library also offers board and card games for in-house use only.

Visit the Youth Services Department to browse the collection. Scroll down for a list of current Nintendo Switch games offered, and additional games to play during your library visit. 


Nintedo Switch - How It Works

In-Library Use: 
 

  • No library card needed.
  • Play inside the library for up to 2 hours/day.
  • Players under age 18 must stay in the Youth Department.
  • Cannot be reserved.
  • Can change game up to 2x.

Check Out a Console:
 

  • Switch consoles circulate for TWO WEEKS.
  • Consoles must be checked out by an adult on an adult card age 18+.
  • $10.00/day late fee.
  • Cannot be reserved.
  • Non-renewable.
  • Must wait 48 hours between check outs.
  • 3 late returns will result in a ban.

Videogame Checkouts:
 

  • Switch games circulate for TWO WEEKS.
  • $1.00/day late fee.
  • Cannot be reserved.
  • Non-renewable.
  • 2 games allowed per card.
