Cookie Decorating All Ages with Caregiver. Teens & Adults Welcome
Families will decorate cookies, provided by My Portion Inc. Food Pantry Plus of New Britain, to be given to those in need. Cookie decorators will be able to enjoy some of their creations as well as take home a cookie decorating kit, while supplies last.
Registration is required and opens four weeks before the date of the program.
Cookie Decorating Thursday, March 7th at 6:00 PM. All ages with caregiver. Teens & Adults welcome.

Imagine Nation presents...
Tuesday April, 9th at 10:00 AM Ages 4-8 with Caregiver Children will create model nebulas using fluorescent paint and a salad spinner to learn how gigantic clouds of gas and dust are formed in space.

Drop-In Taylor Swift Friendship Bracelets Saturday, April 20th from 12:00 - 2:00 PM Ages 8+ with Caregiver - Teens & Adults Welcome
Taylor Swift fans may stop by the Youth Services Department to create a friendship bracelet in honor of Taylor’s newly released album.

CT State Library’s Mobile Outreach Van Visit Stop by anytime between 12:00 - 2:00 PM All Ages Welcome
The Connecticut Library for Accessible Books (CT LAB), formerly the Connecticut State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (LBPH), new Mobile Outreach Van will visit the Plainville Public Library. CT LAB lends books and magazines in audio and braille formats, for free, to any Connecticut resident who is unable to read regular print due to a visual, reading, or physical disability.
No registration needed.

Monthly Scavenger Hunts All Ages with Caregiver; Teens Welcome All Month Long
From March through May, participants can take part in a different themed scavenger hunt each month.
March theme: Cookies April theme: Taylor Swift (with fun facts) May theme: Minecraft 15th Anniversary
Available during library business hours.

Drop-In Crafts All Ages with Caregiver; Teens and Adults Welcome Crafts are available during library business hours.
Crafters of all ages may stop in the Youth Services Department to create a themed craft.
Drop-In Spring Flower Craft Monday, March 18th - Thursday, March 21st from 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM and Friday, March 22nd & Saturday, March 23rd from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
Drop-In Solar Eclipse Foldable Monday, April 8th - Thursday, April 11th from 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM and Friday, April 12th & Saturday, April 13th from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
Drop-In Handprint Cat or Dog Craft Monday, May 13th - Thursday, May 16th from 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM and Friday, May 17th & Saturday, May 18th from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

- Elementary School Reading Requirements - The three Plainville elementary schools are participating in the 2023 Governer's Summer Reading Challenge. Keep track of the completed titles each child reads or is read to (audiobooks and graphic novels count). Children will bring their lists to their new teacher in the fall. Participants can track their titles by using regular paper or print the 2023 governor's reading journal.
