10/6/2023 Update on the Bird Egg Collection

Connecticut Governor and Plainville resident John H. Trumbull donated his extensive collection of Connecticut bird eggs to the Plainville Public Library in the early 1930s. The Trumbull Family moved to Plainville in the early 1900s. John started Trumbull Electric Manufacturing Company with his brothers in 1899 and entered politics in 1921. He became governor in 1925, serving three terms. 
The collection is on display in the Adult Department and Trustees Room at the Library.
