Place or Cancel a Hold

Library patrons may place an item on hold or cancel a hold through their My Account page, by phone, by email, or in person. 
If a desired item is not found in the Library Connection Consortium, Library Staff may be able to place a hold via the State of Connecticut library catalog and have the item delivered to the Plainville Public Library for pickup. 

Holds being delivered from another library will take at least one week to arrive. Patrons will be notified, through their preferred means, when an item is ready for pickup. New items placed on hold will be fulfilled in the order in which they were placed. There may be a wait of a month or more depending on the popularity of the item and how many copies the Library owns. Most libraries within the Library Connection Consortium do not share new items with other libraries for at least six months, however, patrons may visit any library within Connecticut to check-out a desired item and return it to the Plainville Public Library.
