Patrol Division

Commander:  Captain Nicholas Mullins

The Plainville Police Patrol Division, like all other police departments serves as the backbone of the organization. It is the largest division within the department. We take great pride in providing the community with a proactive approach towards fighting crime.

Officers working our patrol division are trained to handle any crisis from unlocking a car door to a major crime. They are first responders to all medical emergencies and are moments away when called upon. All cruisers are equipped with life-saving automatic external defibrillators (AED) and officers are trained in their use.

Our police cruisers are equipped with state of the art technology such as mobile data terminals, on-board cameras, and lighting equipment to enhance the efforts of our officers. We also have a cruiser equipped with a license plate reader.

In addition to responding to calls for service, patrol officers are expected to enforce traffic violations, detect and prevent crime, and engage in directed patrols and other problem solving activities. Patrol officers work closely with members of the community to enhance the quality of life in our Town.
