It's an old adage that still holds true today. Plainville, CT is located near the geographic center of the State. We are nearly equidistant from the metro region's two major cities: New York, NY and Boston, MA. Plainville is blessed with excellent access to major highways and is within 15 minutes of major cities such as Hartford and Waterbury.
Speaking of transportation, Plainville has it all. Located at the confluence of Interstate 84 and State Routes 72 and 9, all roads lead to (and from) Plainville. With multiple points of highway entry and exit, it is no wonder Plainville has maintained a relatively high level of manufacturing as compared to the Statewide Average.
Plainville is also home to Connecticut's oldest airport, Robertson Airport. While mainly used for charter and training flights, the airport opened in 1911 and was used by former Connecticut Governor, John Trumbull, from 1925-1931.
