Memorial Day Ceremonies

On Memorial Day, Monday - May 31st, The Plainville VFW, American Legion and Memorial Day Committee will be honoring our deceased veterans with the laying of wreaths at each Plainville cemetery.  The ceremonies will begin at 7:30 am at VFW Post 574 located at 7 Northwest Drive. Then onto St. Josephs Cemetery, West Cemetery and East Street Cemetery.

The honoring will conclude at approximately 9am at Veterans Memorial Park located on the corner of Maple and Whiting Streets.  There will be a brief ceremony with the laying of wreaths at each monument followed by readings of "What Does Memorial Day Mean to Me" by the student essay winner from each elementary school and middle school. There will also be a flyover between 9am and 9:15am.  The public is welcome to attend.
