The Plainville Senior Center has a registered nurse from the Visiting Nurse Association Healthcare.
Appointment can be made with the nurse for blood pressure checks, urine and blood screenings, assistance with medications, diet, symptoms of illness, common aging problems and other helpful services. Walk in blood pressure screenings are available Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m to 12:00 noon, no appointment necessary.
Foot Care is available to those that are non-diabetic. The cost is $15.00 and includes a foot soak, inspection of feet, toe nail clipping, foot massage and smoothing of calluses and corns. Referrals to area podiatrists are made as needed.
Cholesterol screening are done one day a month, by appointment. Call the nurse for the scheduled day. Cholesterol screenings are $10.00.
