Grandparents / Relatives Raising Children Education and Support Program

If you are a grandparent or relative responsible for raising children, you are not alone.  Millions of older adults are raising children for the second time.  In Plainville, nearly 70 grandparents are legally responsible for their grandchildren.

A monthly education and support group is held at the Plainville Senior Center and is facilitated by staff of the Plainville Senior Center and Youth Services Department.  Childcare is available during the program.  Individual Assistance is also available.

This program offers grandparents / relatives a way to connect about the issues of raising young children; as well as a way to obtain information and education on relevant topics.

The Grandparent / Relative Raising Children's program is open to all individuals who are legally responsible for or caring for a child.  Confidentiality of all participants is respected.  There is no fee to attend.
