Revenue Collection - Paying by Credit Cards


The Town of Plainville has a service agreement with Official Payment Corporation to accept credit payments over the telephone or over the Internet.  Under the agreement, taxpayers may pay their property taxes and sewer use charges by visiting the company’s web site, www.officialpayments.com.

Or

via telephone by calling 1-800-2PAYTAX, and entering Jurisdiction Code 1738.  Taxpayers using this service may pay current OR delinquent taxes or sewer use charges with their credit card.

Official Payments Corporation charges taxpayers a convenience fee for processing the credit card transactions.  The fee schedule can be found on the internet at the web address listed above.  The fee is disclosed up front, and taxpayers have the opportunity to “back out” of the transaction. 

The Town of Plainville also is now accepting credit cards over the counter for payment on Real Estate, Personal Property, Motor Vehicle and Sewer Usage bills.  The fee for this service is 2.49% for visa, mastercard or discover. 

There is a flat fee of $3.95 using a visa debit card. These fees are charged to the taxpayer.  Phone credit card payments are also accepted for this convenience fee.  Sorry at this time American Express cards are not accepted with this company.
