The Town of Plainville is accepting applications for entry level Police Officer position. All completed applications must be returned to the Human Resources Department with the $40.00 application fee (cash or money order only). The Plainville Human Resources Office will conduct a written test on January 8, 2011, at 9:00 a.m. at the Plainville Fire Department located at 77 West Main Street, Plainville, CT. Please make note of the test date as no additional notice will be issued. On the day of testing a photo ID is required. An applicant will be required to present a valid agility CHIP CARD prior to the oral board testing (to be announced at a later date). For CHIPS information please call 1-203-235-5865. The next CHIPS Certification is scheduled for December 18, 2010 at Wesleyan University. A High School Diploma or GED is required. Applicants must be 21 years old to attend the Municipal Police Academy.
Applications are available at the Plainville Police Department, 19 Neal Court; or Town Manager's Office, One Central Square, Plainville; or on the Town's website at www.plainvillect.com. Cut-off date is January 3, 2011, 4:00 p.m. Applications and fees will not be accepted after cut-off date.
The starting salary for Police Officer is $50,294 with an ending range of $66,265 after three years.
