Construction Activity - Northwest Drive
Beginning on or about June 23, 2014, Tabacco & Sons Builders of Bristol, CT and their subcontractors will begin construction activities encompassing the installation of a center median between the driveway of the Middle School of Plainville and Toffolon Elementary School, construction of speed tables and raised crosswalks at the driveways and associated sidewalk improvements. Construction activities are anticipated to continue for approximately eight (8) weeks, (August 15, 2014).
Construction activities are likely to occur mostly during the hours from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. Motorists can expect delays. Night or weekend construction is not anticipated. Motorists should consider alternate routes during these times. Anyone having questions may contact the Plainville Engineering Department at 860-793-0221 Ext. 208.
Trash/Recycling Hauler Change - Effective Immediately
Latella Rubbish Removal has informed the Town of Plainville that they have sold their business to CWPM of Plainville. The Town Council has reviewed the existing contract with Latella and have approved the assignment of this contract to CWPM.
Resident's can refer general trash or recycling questions to CWPM at 860-747-1335. To schedule bulk pickups only, property owners should call 860-793-6721. When calling for bulk pickup, property owners should follow the prompts and be prepared to leave your name, phone number, street address along with the list of items to be picked up.

Nutmeg TV Programming Change - Town Council Meetings
Beginning in May, Nutmeg TV has changed the structure of cablecasting government meetings to allow maximum visibility. They have expanded their programming from 6 hours to 24 hours. Plainville Town Council meetings are now aired all day Thursday. The most recent meeting tape will begin at 12 midnight and repeat every 3 hours with the last showing at 9pm. In addition, meetings can be viewed on Saturday at 9am and Sunday at 12am and 6pm.
The 2014 Farmers Market season is scheduled for June 27 through September 12. It takes place at the Plainville High School on Route 10 and is held on Fridays from 3:00 - 6:00pm.
Pequabuck River Flood Study
URS Corporation out of Rocky Hill has been hired to conduct field observations relating to the Pequabuck River Flood Study. The field work will be conducted along the full length of the river through Plymouth, Bristol and Plainville beginning the week of April 28th. The work is expected to take approximately 2 weeks to complete. All URS employees conducting the study will be carrying property identification.

Reminder to Residents Regarding Trash/Recycling Containers:
Please be sure to follow the instructions on the top of the lid when placing the trash and recycling containers at the curb. The arrows must be pointed toward the road. Also, containers must be five (5) feet from any objects (such as sign posts, mailboxes, etc.) or other carts. Thank you!
