Reconstruction of Cooke Street and Various Surrounding Streets
Plainville, Connecticut – The Town of Plainville will be initiating the reconstruction of Cooke Street. Included in this project will be the reconstruction of Birch Tree Road, Dogwood Road, Wheeler Lane and Plum Tree Road.
Beginning on or about April 11, 2016, the B & W Paving and Landscaping LLC and their subcontractors will begin construction activities encompassing the repair of the existing pavement and the installation of new roadway surfaces of Cooke Street and various surrounding streets, (Birch Tree Road, Dogwood Road, Wheeler Lane and Plum Tree Road). During construction, motorists could expect a gravel roadway surface. Additionally, the construction activities will involve the replacement of catch basin grates and frames. Construction activities are anticipated to continue for approximately eleven (11) weeks, (July 1, 2016).
Construction is most likely to occur during the hours of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Construction activities may occur on some Saturdays contingent upon scheduling and weather conditions. Motorists can expect delays. Night construction is not planned. However should traffic conditions on Cooke Street warrant or impede construction activities night construction may be implemented. It is also likely that vehicle traffic at times will be restricted to only residents, (local traffic only), and emergency vehicles during the hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. A detour route will be established and identified should it be necessary. Motorists should consider an alternate route during these times.
