A seven-member town council is elected at large every two years. Local government offices are in the Municipal Center which is located in the center of the downtown shopping area.
DIRECTIONS TO PLAINVILLE MUNICIPAL CENTER
FROM BRISTOL: Take Route 72 east (Broad Street and East Main Street in Forestville); this becomes Forestville Avenue/Route 372 in Plainville. The Plainville Municipal Center is on the left at the fourth traffic light; the driveway is just beyond the building.
FROM BERLIN & NEW BRITAIN: Take Route 9 north to New Britain, left exit onto Route 72. At the I-84/72 mixmaster remain in the right lanes. Take exit 33, a continuation of Route 72. Take Exit 2, Route 372. Turn left at the end of the ramp onto 372. Follow Rte 372 to the intersection of Route 10.
Cross over Route 10 and continue on Route 372. At the third traffic light
take a right into the Municipal Center driveway.
FROM WATERBURY & POINTS WEST: Take I-84 east to left exit #33, Route 72. Take Exit 1, North Washington St.; turn left off the ramp. At the second traffic light (approx. 1/2 mile) turn left onto Route 372/West Main Street. The Municipal Center is on the left at the next traffic light; the driveway is just beyond the building.
FROM HARTFORD: Take I-84 west to exit 33, Route 72. Take Exit 2, Route 372. At the end of the ramp, turn left onto 372. Follow Rte. 372 to the intersection of Route 10. Cross over Route 10 and continue on Route 372. At the third traffic light take a right into the Municipal Center driveway.
