Town of Plainville Seeks Input on Water Quality

The Town Manager’s Office is seeking citizens input regarding the quality of the water supplied by Valley Water Company.  Valley Water Company is a private company that supplies water to the residents and businesses in Plainville.
“Recently, there has been discussion on social media and elsewhere about the smell of chlorine in the water as well as the impact that it has had on fixtures in the homes”, stated Town Manager Robert Lee.  “As a result of these comments, I have had discussions with Valley Water and Department of Health officials about what could be done, if anything”.
Valley Water is required to regularly test the water to make sure that it meets the drinking water potability standards.  Valley Water has consistently met these standards.  Company officials also indicated that they have received very little in the way of complaints over the last several years regarding water quality.
Residents who have water quality issues are asked to submit them in writing to the Town Manager’s Office.  Please be sure to include your name, address and concern/issue.  Letters can be sent to Robert Lee, Town Manager, 1 Central Square, Plainville, CT 06062.  They can also be emailed to relee@plainville-ct.gov
“After the information is gathered, Town staff will meet with Valley Water and Department of Health officials to determine what can be done, if anything,  to address issues brought forward”, remarked Robert Lee.  “I encourage anyone who has issues with their water to contact the Town Manager’s Office as detailed in this press release”.
