| Planning and Zoning Commission | Both a planning and a regulatory body, the Planning and Zoning Commission in Plainville has many responsibilities. As the lead land use agency in Plainville, the Commission must decide upon the most desirable use of land for recreational, commercial and industrial purposes. Acting in the planning role, the Commission reviews all proposed municipal improvements and is empowered to establish, change and administer regulations for the subdivision and re-subdivision of land. Acting under zoning authority, the Commission is responsible for the establishment and administration of the Town's zoning regulations. The Commission hears and decides upon petitions for changes in the zoning regulations, as well as reviews, conducts hearings on and decides upon requests for special exceptions and site plan reviews.
