The Planning Department provides staff assistance to the Economic Development Agency, the Planning and Zoning Commission and to the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission. It also serves the public, other Town departments, and other public agencies in the day-to-day business of providing guidance on preparing applications for land development activities, answering questions about zoning and wetlands, responding to complaints, and managing the records associated with land use applications. The department also assists the commissions in updating as warranted the zoning, subdivision, and inland wetland regulations, and is responsible for enforcing the zoning and inland wetland regulations.
