| Plainville's Enterprise Zone employs a complete complement of full-service public utilities. A brief outline of the Zone's basic public utility offerings is given below. |
| Sewer: The Enterprise Zone is composed of two "sewersheds." The southern portion is located in the sewershed of the Town of Plainville's Shuttle Meadow Pump Station. The northern portion of the Enterprise Zone is located in the sewershed of the Town of Plainville's Norton Park Pump Station. An extensive network of sanitary sewers ranging in size from eight inches to 15 inches collects sewage flows from the project area and directs them to the Town of Plainville's wastewater treatment plant. |
 | Water Supply: The Town of Plainville utilizes well water from two well fields—one located on Johnson Avenue and the other on Woodford Avenue. Throughout the Enterprise Zone, water is supplied through a series of water mains located under the surrounding streets. Water main sizes in the Zone range from four inches in diameter to 12 inches, although the majority of the mains are eight inches. The Town can also draw water from New Britain's public water supply system if the need arises.

Gas: The Yankee Gas Services Company provides natural gas service throughout the Enterprise Zone and maintains gas service mains on most streets within, and adjacent to, the Zone. Along with Yankee Gas, Algonquin Gas Transmission Company maintains two high-pressure gas transmission pipelines that pass directly through the project area—a six-inch pipeline running north-to-south under South Washington Street from Town Line Road to Broad Street and a 10-inch pipeline running south-to-north along the former Boston & Maine railroad. All other gas mains in the Enterprise Zone are low pressure.

Electricity: Electric services in the Enterprise Zone and the surrounding areas are provided by Connecticut Light & Power.
Telephone: Southern New England Telephone (SNET) and AT&T both provide telephone service to the Enterprise Zone. A buried AT&T fiber optic line runs along the former Boston & Maine train tracks and can be tapped to support a particular usage in the area. |
