PUBLIC NOTICE
It is illegal to discharge snow from driveways, parking and sidewalk areas into the public roadway. Discharging snow into the roadway hinders cleanup operations and is a hazard to motorists. Beginning immediately, the addresses of residents who discharge snow into the public roadway will be forwarded to the police department for appropriate action.

Damaged Mailbox Policy: If during snow removal operations a mailbox is damaged due to direct contact of the plow, the Town or its subcontractor is responsible for the damage. Damage caused by the snow discharged from the plow is the residents responsibility. Report damage to 793-0221, 208

It is the residents duty to make sure that your mailbox & post are made and maintained to withstand a New England Winter.

Sand/Salt Piles
Locations for sand/salt piles for residental use only are as follows:

Norton Park - Parking area near Castle Apartments

Paderewski Park - Parking area on Cooke Street

Toffolon School - Driveway Entrance to School

Trumbull Park - Parking Area

Notice from The Plainville Fire Marshal
In cooperation with the Bristol Fire Marshal's Office and Paraco Gas Company, Plainville residents will be able to take old and unused 20# propane tanks (gas grill size) to a drop off site FREE of charge.

Location: F.D. Engine 4 Fire House Vincent P. Kelly Road Bristol, CT

When: Saturday, October 14, 2006 Sunday, October 15, 2006

Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm - Both days

Types of Residential 20# Tanks only tanks: No commercial tanks

Condition: Any condition, out of date, unused, with or without propane in tank

Requirement: Valid Identification needed for proof of residence.

Please take advantage of this program as it will eliminate storage of tanks at your home that are used and will be disposed of properly.
