| ATTRACTIONS | Plainville Historic Center - Built in 1890, the former town hall now houses a museum of Plainville's early days, including a display of the Farmington Canal Era (1827-1847). Other offerings include Tunxis Indians, toys, museum shop, and special programs. The center is open Wednesday & Saturday and by appointment. Located at: 29 Pierce Street. Tomasso Nature Park - The park offers approximately four acres of wetlands, observation areas, knolls, trails and bridges. It is home to nearly 600 painted turtles and other wildlife including Great Blue Herons. Saturday morning guided nature walks are conducted by naturalist Ruth Hummel, weather permitting.
