The 1st Annual Plainville Wings & Wheels event will be held on Sunday, July 1st at Robertson Airport. This will be a “Fly-In and Car Show” with all proceeds being donated to the Plainville Food Pantry and the Petit Family Foundation. The event will run from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm and admission is $5.00 and $2.00 for ages 5-11. Children under 5 are free. There will also be FREE Parking as well as FREE shuttle busses from the Middle School and Toffolon Elementary School on Northwest Drive.
The Car Show will begin at 8:00 am and will be presented by the Bristol Auto Club and featuring the Plainville Stadium Racers. More than 250 show cars are expected to attend this event. The Fly-In will be presented by Interstate Aviation and will begin at 10:00 am. There will be static airplane displays, static helicopter displays, airplane and helicopter rides and aviation related vendors. Scheduled to appear are Life Star, an antique 1946 J3 Cub Tailwheel and a light sport seaplane - Sea Rey – and many other great aircraft will be displayed.
The day will also feature great food vendors of all sorts, community vendors, face painting, children’s bounce houses (free), a silent auction, and live band entertainment. Kevin Hogan from WFSB Channel 3 will also be making a guest appearance along with his 1959 MGA Roadster. Special thanks to the Plainville Fire Company for providing the “volunteer” cooks.
